Dawn of Age

Dawn of Age was founded on Valentine's Day 2017 in an East Berlin pub by Thomas Helling (drums), Inga Gottschlich and Stefan Schultz (both bass guitar). Two weeks later, guitarist Simon Brunner joined, and the quartet set shop in a small rehearsal space at Anna Landsberger youth center to turn their shared passion for heavy music into original songs. Helling and Brunner have remained as the band's permanent backbone to this day, with Brunner establishing himself as the main songwriter and composer, drawing inspiration from a variety of classic metal subgenres – from 80s British Heavy Metal to Thrash and Melodic Death. The remaining line-up – vocals, bass and lead guitar – has seen some changes over the years, with each temporary member contributing to the band's progression in their own wa (...) Mehr anzeigeny.

The year 2020 marked major changes for Dawn of Age. The band moved to a bigger rehearsal space in Berlin's renowned musical collective ORWOhaus, and Mathias Röpke joined as vocalist. Röpke complemented the band's stylistic range with an equally broad spectrum of vocal styles, including death growls as well as operatic and melodic singing. He also rewrote the lyrics to the existing songs.

After some more polishing and the advent of bass player Martin Kostal in 2022, the band was finally ready to record their debut album "Into The Abyss", which was ultimately released on July 7th, 2023. Besides current members Helling (drums), Röpke (vocals), Brunner (guitars) and Kostal (bass), the album features contributions from former lead guitarist Kyano Levi, who recorded the guitar solos for "Under Bloodred Skies", "Mantis", "War Machine" and "No One", additional lead guitar parts for "Nightmares" and "Nightfall" and the first and third solo as well as additional lead guitar parts on "The Price to Pay".
After the recording of the album, lead guitar duties have been taken over by Toni Seifert.
