Parakeets

Parakeets sind eine Alternative/Indie-rock Band aus Düsseldorf, bestehend aus Julius & Merle Eckardt, Niklas Grothe, Siri Baden & Juliusz Konieczny. Über die Jahre hinweg, gelang es der Band sich durch Auftritte in und um Düsseldorf einen Namen zu machen. Die Debütsingle „Red Lips“ feierte bereits mehrere Radiopremieren bei u.a. WDR2, Antenne Düsseldorf und Radio Duisburg. Zurecht, denn ihre Songs überzeugen mit Elementen aus dem Indie-Rock, Britpop und einer Prise Rockabilly. Sie klingen individuell, frisch und bleiben im Ohr. Im Laufe der Zeit spielte die Band diverse Konzerte, wie auf dem Reading Fringe Festival in Reading (UK) als musikalische Vertreter der Landeshauptstadt Düsseldorf. Die zweite Single „London Town“ schaffte es als höchster Neueinsteiger in die Ruhrcharts, hielt sich (...) Mehr anzeigenfür vier Wochen in den Top 30 und feierte somit bereits Radiopremieren bei mehreren Lokalradios wie Radio Bochum, Radio Essen, Radio Herne und Radio Emscher Lippe. Diese Erfolge brachten der Gruppe jüngst eine Nominierung für den popNRW-Preis 2021 in der Kategorie „Newcomer“ ein. Mit ihrer Musik, so sagt die Band, möchten sie ihr eigenes zeitloses Genre kreieren, dass vertraute Sounds der Musikgeschichte, mit dynamischer Jugend verbindet.
Parakeets are an alternative/indie rock band from Düsseldorf, consisting of Julius & Merle Eckardt, Niklas Grothe, Siri Baden & Juliusz Konieczny. Over the years, the band managed to make a name for themselves by playing gigs in and around Düsseldorf. Their debut single "Red Lips" has already celebrated several radio premieres at WDR2, Antenne Düsseldorf and Radio Duisburg, among others. Rightly so, because their songs are convincing with elements of indie rock, Britpop and a pinch of rockabilly. They sound individual, fresh and stay in the ear. In the course of time, the band played various concerts, such as at the Reading Fringe Festival in Reading (UK) as musical representatives of the state capital Düsseldorf. The second single "London Town" made it into the Ruhr charts as the highest new entry, stayed in the Top 30 for four weeks and thus already celebrated radio premieres at several local radio stations such as Radio Bochum, Radio Essen, Radio Herne and Radio Emscher Lippe. These successes recently earned the group a nomination for the popNRW Prize 2021 in the "Newcomer" category.
