They Joan Darx - music for times of impending doom and gloom. A post-rock alternative multicultural queer feminist band. Emotions. Politics. Identity. Sounds. For times of lurking darkness.

All of us were seeking for a new band in early 2017. Drummer Marie Leão and multitalent Oricello knew each other already from other band projects. And than there was this good-looking, extremely intense and naturally performatic singer Marie knew from alternative gay-prides. D brought also beautiful sad lyrics which fit as a glove to the kind of music they loved to play: dark and mysterious.

They were still missing a bass-player, but then Marie got a call from ILLAY, a great Israeli celli (...) Mehr anzeigenst and singer, who, was looking for a drummer for a gig. They immediatedly fell in love musically, so Marie asked her if she would play the bass in her new band. They Joan Darx were all set-up!

It's a gender fluent band and fluent is its music. They don't want guitars. And they love their concept of being a female band with a gender-fluent singer. This makes them unique. Weniger anzeigen
