Latin What? Billboard Magazine indeed came up with a fancy description for the kind of music and the signature sound that is Vinyl Soul. Neo-Latin-Soul. Convinced that this band would become a chart topper, they stated that the band has a lot of potential. Now, like the Wu Tang Clan and Maggie Rogers, Vinyl Soul are going their own way and are making music which simultaneously defies genres and mesmerizes audiences worldwide. Their crossover fusion of R & B, Soul, Hip-Hop as well as elements of flamenco and bolero is as much unique as it is pure joy to listen to.
Vinyl Soul formed in 2004, when John Patrick and Enrique Nambo were introduced at the graduation party of the renowned music school, the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, which ranks among the top music schools in the United State (...) Mehr anzeigens. Singing comes very naturally for JP and he sings both smooth vocals and also with a raspy edge. He developed his voice from singing in church since he was a child. Enrique Nambo plays the guitar as if he was born with it and also produces the songs Vinyl Soul write together. In a lot of ways the duo complements each other like Yin and Yang. Can the Vinyl Soul experience get any better? Yes, it can. Add their friends Mona Seda on trumpet, Andrés Vega on drums and Mark Beumer on bass into the mix and it transcends into pure magic.
Their career gained momentum in 2009, when they won the battle of the bands contest “Vive Tu Musica”, sponsored by Wrigley’s, followed by performances on LA TV, airplay across the US and several album releases. Over the years, they also played sold out shows with Latin superstars Daddy Yankee and Camila, were among the three finalists of the “Kaboo Del Mar Discovery Tour” and touring quite a bit in and outside of the US.
Vinyl Soul currently work at a new album and plan touring the West Coast as well as some parts of Europe in 2019. Weniger anzeigen
